1) I got a new car! AAAAAAH! I know, I know, the exploder is now in the hands of C.D. Lionberger. I will miss being so unrestricted with it, but I will not miss not having a radio. To replace the exploder, I now have a 2011 Nissan Rogue. People keep asking what I have named it. Some have even said all objects are feminine and to give it a girl's name, but I've been feeling the pressure, and also a male spirit in the Rogue, so I have named it Jonas after the Jonas Brothers. Did I mention I have XM radio for three months? RADIO DISNEY!!!!
2) After Jonas arrived, I took him on his maiden voyage to New Orleans to watch my friends Robert and David run the New Orleans Rock and Roll Marathon. Finish time was 4:06....did I mention it was their first marathon? Those boys are cuh-razy. I stayed with my friend Jennifer Radecker in her store http://www.louisianarunning.com/LouisianaRunningCompany/LRC_Home.html
If you are ever in New Orleans and need new running shoes, she carries the not so common brands, but they are so neat and have their own cool technology so check out her store on Canal Street. I bought some K-Swiss running shoes and they have proven to be magical.
I didn't want to bother with parking around the race, because it was going to be a pain to get in and out. I was trying to figure out what the heck I was going to do, when Jennifer suggested I take the street car and walk to the course. BRILLIANT! So I loaded myself up on the Canal Streetcar, walked two miles to the start and just jumped around the course looking for the boys. Warning. DO NOT wear converse sneakers to a marathon. I have blisters on my heels and my calves were killing me the next day. On the plus side, I looked cool, and that's all that matters.
3) On Valentine's day, I drove back home from the race, and not even two hours of being home, I received a call from a place I had interviewed in New Orleans (Metarie, for the natives) saying "Hey you got the job, can you start Wednesday?" I said yes. Packed up ONE bag, and drove to Mandeville to move in with one of my best friends, Jennifer Fontenot. And that is where I have been since.
4) Two days ago, Jennifer and I trekked over to Baton Rouge to be apart of Robert and Kristin's proposal party! Haha, that's right, Robert proposed to Kristin and we had a big bash to celebrate! It was very sweet and Jen & I were nervous for him. Happy times, indeed!
5) My friend Alice' ran her first half marathon on Saturday in Austin. This girl has guts, because Austin is nothing but hills and I am big weenie when it comes to hills and she pulled an awesome first time of 2:31. Shout out to her momz, Bethany and Amanda. I love having runner friends that are girls and also that aren't real snobby about it. They keeps it realz. Now if I can convince her to run the Rock and Roll Vegas with me in December....AH!!! Kathy Wimberly is my inspiration/pump up to run this race.
6) Next month, I will be running the Dallas Rock & Roll Half marathon. Hopefully I can pull a good time. We'll see. Always tryin' to PR....
Until more goofy stuff happens, I'm signing off. Life has certainly taken off with a running start now...it didn't even give me time to pack towels or my makeup bag...

you know you are a run snob when you come get your race packet in your previous half/marathon shirt.
also you are a run snob when you have a 26.2 AND 13.1 sticker on your car.
